The Schnütgen Museum houses a significant collection of medieval art. The artworks are experienced both aesthetically and emotionally by visitors.
Around 2000 objects are currently displayed for visitors to explore throughout the exhibition spaces. The museum’s special exhibitions, such as this one, are devoted to issues that emerge from the museum’s work. Starting points include aspects of medieval art and cultural concerns that are pertinent.
The museum used the milestone of its 850th anniversary to hold this special exhibition in Cologne. Furthermore, this year was marked by the Tree Wise Men. Ivories, sculptures, paintings, and manuscripts from Germany, Spain, Italy, France, and the Netherlands were on display.
The earliest artwork in the exhibition was a 3rd-century tomb slab from the Vatican Museums (the public museums of Vatican City). The most recent piece on display was an 18th-century Neapolitan crib containing about 300 figures.
Frank was thrilled to support this special exhibit in displaying these exceptional masterpieces with the help of their state-of-the-art, pioneering display cases.
