Among the artifacts on show were imposing marble reliefs from the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo, luxurious objects ranging from rock crystal and ivory to ceramic lusterware and masterpieces of metalwork. Presented in a group of twenty-three museum display cases, many of which utilize FRANK’s proprietary lighting system to highlight the beauty and nuances of the objects, the museum exhibition showcases continue to be used and re-used for the museum’s special exhibit programs.
The World of the Fatimids exhibition, which took place in 2018 at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Canada, was significant because it was the first time in North America that a number of rare, meticulously chosen works of art from the Fatimid dynasty were on display. The Cairo-based dynasty, which rose to prominence in the 10th and 11th centuries, established one of the world’s major civilizations and erected one of the oldest universities, one of its largest libraries, and a flowering of the arts and sciences.
